Sinners

The only sin is not knowing

the bigger picture,

and even then


it’s nothing new:

No one stopped

the strangling fig.


No one rescued Job.


God must know itself,

I think, and thinking,

know myself, and even then —


that God and the Devil are secretly one

only God and the Devil can know.


The only sin is not knowing the bigger picture,

and even then it’s nothing new.


I forgive the Father God,

and he forgives me, too.
